Who am I?

I am an Associate Professor teaching Economics and Political Science in Vilnius, Lithuania. I also play quite a lot of board games, especially historical wargames. Combining the two, one of my key areas of interest is the use of games for education and analysis. In this blog, I will focus on games, but may also add a post or two on books, history, or any other topics I find interesting or important. As you notice, there are sections in English and in Lithuanian.

Why Substack?

I previously wrote game-related posts in Lithuanian on Facebook, but that is not a convenient method for longer texts, especially if there are more illustrations. I posted in English on Twitter, but we likely know where that is going. And, it’s also not convenient for longer pieces.

Substack seems to offer a good place for writing more, using photos to tell a story (especially for after action reports), and so on, all without a need to focus on managing all the Wordpress stuff. What I also like is the ability to have different sections within the single Substack, so I can separate the content by language.

I currently have no plans to post behind a paywall.

Where else can you find me?

A space for taking games (mostly) seriously. Some other thoughts too.
